Contribution to society

Our members activities contribute to Swedish society.

Gambling contributes to jobs, economic activity, and tax revenues. More than 4,000 people are employed in Sweden’s gambling industry. The sector’s contribution to gross domestic product (GDP) is around SEK 10 billion annually (~ €860 million), while employer contributions and payroll taxes from the industry amount to about SEK 500 million each year (~ €43 million). The sector is also the single largest sponsor of sports in Sweden, providing about SEK 800 million (~ €69 million) in sponsorship each year. In addition, gambling companies pay SEK 2–3 billion (~ €170–260 million) in gambling taxes annually.
