About BOS

The Swedish Trade Association for Online Gambling – BOS – represents around 20 gambling companies that are active in the Swedish market. All BOS members hold a Swedish gambling license issued by the Swedish Gambling Authority.

BOS and its members are committed to ensuring a safe, sustainable, and well-regulated gambling market in Sweden. We work towards this goal by engaging in dialogue with key Swedish stakeholders – including the government, political parties, and the Swedish Gambling Authority – to promote effective and balanced regulation.

Since its foundation in 2012, BOS has consistently advocated for a non-discriminatory licensing system where no operator is pre-emptively excluded from applying for and obtaining a license, as was the case under the earlier monopoly system, but instead all companies are assessed equally under a uniform set of rules.

A high rate of channelization – the proportion of gambling that takes place within the licensed market – is fundamental to achieving a well-functioning gambling market and all stated goals of Sweden’s gambling statutes and regulations, including strong consumer protection. Channelization is at the core of all BOS policy positions, as a high rate is essential for the regulation to be effective.

Each BOS member company has one vote in the association, ensuring equal formal influence. The highest decision-making body is the Annual General Meeting (AGM), with extraordinary meetings convened as needed.

Day-to-day operations are led by Secretary General Gustaf Hoffstedt, who reports to the BOS Board. The current Board members are:

Amandus Jabin, Betsson – Chair

Greg Noakes, bet365

Amanda Strehlenert-Sparre, LeoVegas
