The Swedish Trade Association for Online Gambling (BOS ) today submitted its reply to the Ministry of Finance regarding the authority’s suggestions on temporarily measures in connection to the covid-19 crisis. BOS dismisses the suggestions arguing that the motives for the measures – an alleged increase of online casino – has not occurred. BOS also advocate that an implementation of the suggested measures would have a negative impact on channelization. The reply can be read in its entirety here.
“The motive for the Ministry of Finance to implement the suggested measures has been an alleged increase of online casino due to covid-19. That has proven to be inaccurate. We therefore suggest that the Government withdraw these suggestions, also bearing in mind that they would have a negative impact on channelization.” says Gustaf Hoffstedt.
